Glenaron Fisher, G.G.

Glenaron Fisher handles appraisals in the  following regions for Heritage Appraisers:

I was pretty much raised in the Jewelry business in Ohio, my mother and father are both bench jewelers. I started in the business at 15 years old at a small private owned jewelry store as part time high school job.

I started out with basic janitorial duties then one day my father gave me a paper of diamonds and wanted me to sort them for him, from there I was hooked. Shortly after graduating from high school, I started my distance education courses with the Gemological Institute of America and completed my diamonds courses.

In selling jewelry, I found myself wanting to further my learning in the career I had chosen and enjoyed. At this point, I had decided my best move was to travel to the Gemological institute of America in Carlsbad, CA.

The school opened my eyes to how much I enjoyed talking with other people in my profession from all over the world. We all had a common language in gemology.

After completing my courses at GIA, I traveled back to Ohio and started back in retail jewelry sales again, but something was missing. I shortly left the retail profession helping friends purchase jewelry and completing appraisals for them.

I had been active with my local GIA alumni here in Ohio, and met Stephen Lott, owner of Heritage Appraisers. He started talking to me about joining his appraisal company.

Currently I perform appraisal services in Pittsburgh, PA. Akron, Cleveland and Columbus, OH and Indianapolis, IN.

It was the perfect fit for me, as  I could talk and teach people about something I felt very passionate about the gemology industry.

Throughout this time I have found my second love which is Scuba diving and underwater photography. I became a certified scuba diver in 2000 and have traveled the world. Possibly, I can merge the scuba diving and gemology together Ala. Mel Fischer and hunt for gemstones aboard sunken shipwrecks.
