What will Heritage Appraisers, Inc. do with my jewelry?
- Heritage Appraisers, Inc. will perform the jewelry appraisal with you there, allowing you to see every step of the jewelry appraisal process.
- Your jewelry will be cleaned, and all of the diamonds and gemstones will be checked for a tight fit, if they are chipped or broken, and the overall condition of the gem mounting.
- Any necessary repairs will be revealed to you at that time.
- The appraiser will then photograph the item and began the appraisal process, which will include the grading of all gemstones for quality and color.
- All gemstones and diamonds will be measured and all metal will be tested for content.
- The appraiser will clean your jewelry upon completion and present the client with a completed appraisal document.
Other appraisers need to keep your jewelry for 3 to 5 days at which time they provide you with a report. What happens to your jewelry during that time is a mystery!
How do I make an appointment to have my jewelry appraised?
Heritage Appraisers, Inc. operate in sixty-five locations from Pennsylvania to Utah. You can go online to our calendar and find the location of the store closest to you and either call the store or follow the directions to make your appointment on line.
What services come with the appraisal? What types of payments are accepted?
Each appraisal will have a photo copy for your insurance company. Heritage Appraisers, Inc. accepts all major credit cards and appraisals performed in satellite locations can take advantage of store credit programs.
What type of records are given for safety and protection of the customer?
All of the appraisals are kept on secure back-up drives. These records will only be shared with the person(s) named on the appraisal. Heritage Appraisers, Inc. will not share any information from the appraisal with any organization without the written consent of the person(s) named on the appraisal document.
Are appraisals performed by Heritage Appraisals done while the client waits?
Heritage Appraisers, Inc. will complete most appraisals while the customer is present. Heritage Appraisers, Inc. will never keep your personal jewelry. In cases of rare jewelry the items may need to be researched and those appraisals will be mailed or e-mailed directly to you.

Does Heritage Appraisers, Inc. offer digital Jewelry appraisal images your jewelry appraisal report?
Most appraisers offer photos with their appraisals. Heritage Appraisers, Inc. provide two digital photography jewelry appraisal views: a front and side view of the item being appraised. This aids in identification in the event of loss or damage. Jewelry stores that offer appraisals sometimes only give a written report without any photos.
Are updates to jewelry appraisals available through Heritage Appraisers, Inc.?
Heritage Appraisers, Inc. charges a nominal fee to upgrade your jewelry appraisal. We suggest that you have your appraisal updated every three to five years. Heritage Appraisers, Inc. will contact you when it is time for your update.
Does Heritage Appraisers, Inc. do expert testimony?
Yes Heritage Appraisers, Inc. will do expert testimony. You would need to contact one of our offices for fees.
Will Heritage Appraisers, Inc. work with Insurance agents or attorneys for appraisals?
This is the fine line Heritage Appraisers, Inc. maintains when it comes to writing unbiased insurance appraisals. Working with an insurance agent will insure that you’re either receiving proper coverage for your personal property or to aid in replacing stolen or damaged item with our client’s written release.
We will work with a client’s attorney as long as we have a written release from the client.
Should you have your jewelry restored by heritage appraisers?
Heritage Appraisers, Inc. is an independent appraisal service. We are not a retail store, repair shop buyer or seller of jewelry. If your jewelry is damaged, Heritage Appraisers, Inc. will provide you with a list of qualified jewelers that can restore your personal property.
